Showing weakness takes strength

Like most golf fans I watched the unbelievable finish to the Ryder Cup yesterday as Graeme McDowell edged out Hunter Mahan in the final match on the 17th hole to give the Europeans the Ryder Cup.

During the final match, the weight of both countries was suddenly thrust upon McDowell and Mahan.  Unfortunately with these events, there is always a winner and a "perceived" loser.  Those that win, live in celebration for years, which it looks like the Euros are definitely on their way to enjoying their win. :-)  And those that lose, sometimes become very emotional and take the final outcome to heart.

After watching this interview today, I then saw a tweet by Leo Babauta of Zen Habits directing people to a recent post by Seth Godin on Demonstrating Strength.

The final point in Seth's Blog really hit home after seeing everything unfold with the Ryder Cup and Hunter Mahan.

"Risking the appearance of weakness takes strength."

Hunter showed his weakness, which takes tremendous strength and he should be applauded for this.  Hunter will be back, better then ever!

4 Must Reads To Help Live Your Passion

Gowiththeflow

As everyone knows I am a big believer in following your passion and doing what you love for your profession.  I know it is a very tough thing to do, but once you make the move, your life will never be the same.  My bro and I have been entrepreneurs now for almost 10 years and we continue to follow our passion day in and day out.  We base all of our decisions around what "we" want to do.  We set our own tone.

I wrote a post last week about 5 Great Posts I Recently Viewed and I enjoyed writing in that format and sharing some great blogs I read recently, so I thought I would use the same format for this post sharing some great post I read recently that might help you live your passion professionally.  So, enough babbling, since I know your attention is very important and I really appreciate the attention you have given me thus far.

1.  How to Reclaim Your Attention - Leo Babauta based this post on a recent message he tweeted "Consider what you give your attention to each day.  It's a precisous resource & determines the shape of your life"

2.  But it's better than TV - As usual Seth Godin gets to the point and along the same lines of Gary Vaynerchuk, Stop watching #@$%*** Lost!!!

3.  Law of the Day: Sunday - the Path to Wellness Blog wrote a post on Sunday that pretty much sums up in 3 points the Law of Pure Potentiality.  Thanks Adrian for sharing this with me.

4.  Why Grow? and Other Wisdom from 37Signals - An amazing post by Tim Ferriss, author of The 4-Hour Workweek.  It is ok to be small and great.  Don't forget that as you build your business.

These are a few posts I have read over the last week or so.  What do you think?  Have you read some others that can help with following your passion?  If so, please share them in the comments.  Thanks.
