36 Hours In Boston with Muse & Silversun Pickups
I know, I have been going on and on about this trip a lot lately in person, on here, on Facebook, on Twitter, but I must say we had a great time in Beantown, in such a short period of time.
Jodi and I arrived in Boston at 3PM EST on Friday and we met up with some old friends for a couple of drinks at Rockbottom, but those couple of drinks turned into a 2AM event. It is these unplanned evenings, that turn out to be the most memorable. We had a good time and it was great to catch up with old friends.
Saturday was game day as we got prepared for the big show with Muse and Silversun Pickups. For breakfast we cruised to Charlie's Sandwhich Shop, which is an 82 year old business. You wait outside to be seated, there are no washrooms and only 32 seats, 13 of which lie along a counter across from wooden refrigerators purchased in 1927, used. We sat at the counter and had a great breakfast. It was amazing to see their team work in unison. No talking, everyone just knew their roles and did them to their best. If you are ever in Back Bay, you have to check out Charlie's.
From there we had a pre-game nap and got ready for the big show. Going into the show, Jodi and I were huge Silversun Pickups fans and they did not disappoint. We were familiar with Muse and some of their tunes, but not big fans by any stretch of the imagination. Not knowing what to expect, we were blown away and the show was incredible, stunning, jaw-dropping. Everything was fantastic. Music, visuals, sound, staging, you name it. So we are now big Muse fans and I recommend you check them and Silversun Pickups out if you ever get a chance to. Here are the setlists and some pics from our trip. Some pics came via Muse's website, our seats were not that good. :-)
One thing I must say I learned from watching Muse, they are passionate and they understand the importance of creating a movement around the things they believe in. Amazing to see in action!
